Embrace your inner weirdness

August 26, 2016

These trousers make me want to sing Super Trouper. Really really loudly. Except I'm practically tone deaf, so I can assure you I'm not planning to join ABBA any time soon don't worry! However, these zig-zag knitted flares in Topshop definitely got inspiration from the seventies- don't you think?
If I'm honest, I actually tried them on just for a few giggles because they were in the sale, but then they ended up being oddly flattering, comfy and cute- for an ugly pair of trousers at least! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess ;)

I'm a big fan of embracing your inner weirdness and dressing in what makes you happy! I feel like there's a huge pressure to look a certain way, dress a certain way and fit into a certain 'box'. It's so easy to compare ourselves to each other now with Instagram and various magazines screaming at you fit in. Just remember that people are going to have opinions anyway so you may as well dress exactly how you want to. If that's comfy jeans and a t-shirt, great! You want to wear a tulle skirt to go shopping? Do it! I dare ya. The main thing is you have fun and feel confident. Smiling is the best thing you can wear anyway, and that's a darn lot easier when you are being yourself!
On a slightly more personal note, I got into university! So in just under two weeks I'll be moving down to Falmouth to study zoology. I'm thinking of doing some posts during the move like things I'm taking with me, how I decorate my room etc, so if that's something you'd be interested in let me know in the comments section. There'll probably be a few slightly different posts to usual because I'll be on a student budget and won't be able to bake as much as I do currently... however I'll be cooking vegetarian meals everyday so I'll probably be sharing some healthy, budget friendly recipes instead!
What are you all up to at the moment? Are any of you heading to university soon as well?
Have a great weekend folks!
