Autumn beauty, accessories and favourite things.

By August 31, 2014 , , , , , ,

The Autumn palette of colours is one of my favourites. The rich reds, purples, forest greens and browns are just so welcoming and warm. This post is a little round up of the make-up, accessories and essentials in my bag this season, showing my inspirations and base colours this season.

First up are these two lipsticks. The berry colours are surprisingly easy to wear, and are more gothic and moody than the nude and peach tones that I wear in summer. 'Queen of Hearts' by Collection 2000 is a pillar box red, which is so vibrant and retro- perfect for adding a colour pop to outfits. On the left is a deep plum from the Body Shop delipcious range which is a beautiful purple colour but doesn't appear to be available any more. Unfortunately the staying power of this one isn't great so I'll be looking into similar shades from other brands.

Stacking jewellery is so simple, but the colours, widths and heights can be varied for a bohemian look. This pack from H&M features rose gold, silver and gun metal colours for an eclectic style. I also love the wide silver  ring, which could easily be recreated at home using a piece of copper pipe the width of you finger, cut to size then filed. Metallic hair accessories such as this copper pipe hair cuff here is a great one to try if you're stuck for DIY inspriation.
Take your camera for a walk to your local flower shop and find a bunch of flowers you love. Once they start to go over, dry them and leave them as decorations or wear them in your hair. These pink and orange rose make such a pretty crown, scattered with delphiniums and baby's breath. For a more laid back style, loosely plait your hair and tuck in a few sprigs of gypsophila, tiny flowers or feathers.
A journal is yet another handbag essential all year round. Take it with you for walks, train journeys or day trips to scribble down any doodles or thoughts you have on your adventures. It can be so refreshing to stop making memos on your smartphone and just put a pen to paper! You could also put any leaves or flowers you find between the pages to remember the day.
What are your favourite things for Autumn?

    1. Hope you find the colour you're looking for, I'd definitely recommend it- the staying power and pigmentation is excellent for such a cheap lipstick! Thank you for commenting!
