LUSH Sultana of Soap

By June 11, 2014 , ,

Nope I haven't just raided the confectionery aisle- although it may look like nougat, it is in fact LUSH's 'Sultana of Soap'. Admittedly not the prettiest soap to reach for and probably not one I would be drawn to or have picked up for myself if I hadn't have been given it as a gift. Remember 'don't judge a book by it's cover'? This is one of those perfect examples.

First off, when I opened the wrapper there was a wonderfully comforting scent of dried fruit and bergamot, despite looking suspiciously like a dessert. Another thing I noticed was how creamy and moisturising it is, even just picking it up it started to melt a little, which is why I cut it into quarters as I didn't want it to dissolve after a few washes. Despite this, I get at least 10 washed from each quarter, leaving me with 40 washes from 100g, costing about 8.5p a wash.
The soap forms a really luxurious creamy lather, and I didn't find I needed any extra lotions or body butters afterwards because my skin felt so moisturised. After drying, the scent stays on the skin, which I personally love because I keep getting whiffs of the soap throughout the day. I have read about a few people having problems with the dried fruit getting into the drains, however I haven't really found a problem myself as they are such small pieces and are quite sparing through the soap.
Overall, I would definitely repurchase and recommend 'Sultana of Soap', as it is a great moisturiser and has such a lovely scent that lingers long after washing.
Which are your favourite products from LUSH? I'd love to hear some of your recommendations!

I do love Lush - their handcreams are brilliant, and their shampoo and conditioners are wonderful. I'm loving their American Cream at the moment.
